Job Description
Hermosa Montessori School is seeking a dedicated Montessori Floating Teacher for a full-time, on-campus substitute role supporting grades Preschool through 8th grade. This hourly position is based at our beautiful 16-acre campus in Tucson, AZ, and involves providing classroom coverage, maintaining a nurturing and engaging learning environment, and supporting the Montessori philosophy across various age groups. The Floating Teacher will step in as needed to deliver lessons, manage classroom activities, and collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure continuity in our students’ educational experience. This role does not include benefits.
Responsibilities:

Provide substitute teaching support for Preschool through 8th-grade classrooms as needed.

Implement lesson plans and activities in alignment with Montessori philosophy and methodology.

Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student independence and growth.

Collaborate with lead teachers and staff to maintain classroom routines and expectations.

Engage with students to support their academic, social, and emotional development.
Qualifications:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to adapt to various classroom settings and age groups.

Passion for supporting students’ holistic development in a Montessori environment.

Collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
Preferred, but not required:
-
Montessori certification for any age group (3-6, 6-9, or 9-12).

Experience teaching in a Montessori environment.

Strong knowledge of Montessori philosophy and methodology.
